Recently, Indonesia's Lion Air ordered 234 Airbus A320 Family aircraft (press release from Airbus Industries). Aircrafts, ships, automobiles etc. are one important application area (Mobiltech) for technical / industrial textiles.
Should you be interested to know more about carbon fiber composite materials in aircrafts, we recommend a short and interesting VDMA film about the use of technical textiles in Airbus A380:
According to the findings of a new study (Sept. 2012) – entitled "Series production of high-strength fiber composite components – Prospects for German engineering" – by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and the VDMA Forum Composite Technology, the volume of high-strength CFK components produced worldwide is set to grow by 17 per cent a year until 2020.
During the conference, companies like Trützschler Nonwovens & Man-Made Fibers, Brückner Textile Technologies, Lindauer Dornier, Georg Sahm and August Herzog will have a focus on technical / industrial textiles during their presentations. The speakers will show that "German Technology" is a success factor to produce higher value added textiles. Recently, Indonesia`s Ministry of Industry has urged local textile entrepreneurs to do so: see also article.
